North East Wildlife Management provides professional bat removal services to residents throughout Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.
The Preferred Habitats of Bats
Although they favor temperate climates, bats can be found just about anywhere they can find an adequate food supply. This excludes places with extremely cold temperatures, like Antarctica and certain areas of the Arctic. They favor environments like desserts, tropical forests, mountains, open fields, and woodlands.
Bats can even be found in many urban and suburban communities. With more than 900 species of bats in the world, roosting preferences can vary. However, some of the main roosting habitats include rock crevices, caves, mines, trees, barns, and attics.
Infestations in Your Home
When bats make their homes in residential areas, it can cause issues for both them and the homeowners. They are able to enter homes through gaps, cracks, missing shingles, and uncovered chimneys. Unfortunately, because bats prefer to live in colonies, if you see one, there are likely many others.
Besides actually spotting them with your own eyes, there are several other signs that can point to a possible infestation. They include scratching sounds behind your walls, screeching noises that sound as if they are coming from inside your home, and the appearance of bat droppings.
Luckily, we have the experience, knowledge, and equipment necessary to remove these pests from your property.
